Since our founding in 1923, we have been dedicated to the development and manufacturing of textile and chemical products. Our journey began with specialized yarn twisting for traditional fabrics. Our chemical division, which originated from the development of yarn processing agents, has now expanded far beyond the textile industry. We leverage our proprietary research to provide unique solutions, including photocatalytic and\n super-hydrophilic coatings for architectural maintenance, heat-shielding coatings, and specialized cleaning agents.<\/p>\n

Human Rights Policy<\/h1>\n

Corporate Philosophy and Commitment<\/h3>\n

Our corporate philosophy is: “To pursue the material and spiritual happiness of all employees, while contributing to the development of a prosperous society by delivering experiences that exceed our customers’ expectations.” As a company\n that supports social information infrastructure, we are committed to solving social issues.<\/p>\n

We recognize that respecting human rights is a vital social responsibility. We pledge to contribute to the sustainable growth of society by putting this responsibility into practice. We fulfill this commitment by ensuring our operations\n do not infringe upon the rights of others and by taking appropriate corrective actions whenever actual or potential adverse impacts on human rights are identified through our business activities.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, if adverse human rights impacts caused by our suppliers or business partners are directly linked to our business, services, or products, we will require those parties to respect human rights and prevent further infringement.\n This Human Rights Policy (hereinafter “the Policy”) clarifies our commitment to respecting human rights and fulfilling our social responsibilities based on our corporate philosophy.<\/p>\n

1. Compliance with International Norms and Laws<\/h3>\n

As a supporter of the United Nations Global Compact, we respect and uphold international human rights standards, including the “International Bill of Human Rights,” the ILO “Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work,”\n and the “Children’s Rights and Business Principles.” This Policy has been formulated in accordance with the UN “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.”<\/p>\n

We comply with the laws and regulations applicable in every country and region where we operate. In the event of a conflict between internationally recognized human rights and local laws, we will seek ways to maximize respect for international\n human rights principles.<\/p>\n

2. Scope of Application<\/h3>\n

This Policy applies to all directors and employees (including full-time, contract, and temporary staff) of Marusho Sangyo Co., Ltd. We also require our suppliers and business partners to respect human rights and avoid infringements\n in accordance with international norms.<\/p>\n

3. Governance<\/h3>\n

The Sustainability Committee, chaired by the President and Representative Director, is responsible for establishing activity policies, developing and reviewing the promotion structure, and monitoring progress toward goals. Significant\n matters are reported to and supervised by the Board of Directors following review by the Management Committee.<\/p>\n

4. Continuous Implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence<\/h3>\n

In alignment with the UN Guiding Principles, we have established a human rights due diligence framework to continuously execute the following:<\/p>\n

  • Identification and Assessment of Adverse Impacts:<\/strong> We identify and assess actual or potential adverse human rights impacts that our business activities may have on society. We conduct these assessments regularly,\n recognizing that the human rights landscape evolves over time.<\/li>\n
  • Prevention and Mitigation:<\/strong> To prevent or mitigate adverse impacts, we integrate response measures into our internal processes. We prioritize actions based on the severity of the impact. We also provide appropriate\n education and training to all directors and employees to ensure the Policy is understood and integrated, while encouraging our partners to do the same.<\/li>\n
  • Monitoring Effectiveness:<\/strong> We continuously monitor the implementation and effectiveness of our prevention and mitigation measures to fulfill our responsibility.<\/li>\n
  • Information Disclosure:<\/strong> We will appropriately disclose our progress and initiatives regarding human rights.<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n

    5. Remediation and Grievance Mechanisms<\/h3>\n

    If it becomes clear that our business activities have caused or contributed to adverse human rights impacts, we will work to remediate the situation through appropriate means. We guarantee anonymity and confidentiality for whistleblowers\n and pledge that no individual will suffer any disadvantage for reporting concerns.<\/p>\n

    6. Dialogue and Consultation<\/h3>\n

    We strive to improve our human rights initiatives through ongoing dialogue and consultation regarding actual or potential impacts. Based on these discussions, we will review and update this Policy and our key human rights priorities\n as needed.<\/p>\n

    7. Providing Human Rights-Conscious Products and Services<\/h3>\n

    To realize a safe and prosperous society, we respect human rights throughout the provision of our products and services.<\/p>\n

    • Harmony with Communities and Supply Chain Integrity:<\/strong> We respect the rights of local residents during facility construction and remain vigilant to eliminate human rights violations in the supply chain, such as the\n use of conflict minerals.<\/li>\n
